u could also check the ecm conection to see if there is any moisture in there that can reak havock with it also , ask me how i know . dried mine out good put some dielectric grease in all is well again
Tonight I took apart the air cleaner and got some Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner and sprayed down the intake good and wiped everything down. Got a good shot or two on the IAS as well. We'll see tomorrow if it makes a difference. I paid closer attention today while riding to work. I definitely get a hesitation when rolling on the throttle in 2nd and 3rd gear, not so much in 4th and 5th. This morning when I came to a stop I got the stuttering like it was about to run out of gas, but not at every stop. If the cleaning that I did tonight doesn't fix it I think I'll try changing out the TPS this weekend.

The 06 bikes had an injector problem ,and harley was changing the injectors, does your bike have the campaign done?

Not that I know. I just had the bike into the dealership a few months ago for some new tires and a new stator. I would assume that if my bike was part of that campaine they would have notified me. But then again, I probably shouldn't assume that either. How would I find out if my bike needs this to be done?
Hahahaha!!!!! thanks for the advice, yea looked at it last night, doesnt look very fun at all, tried getting a allen wrench in their already, made a little tool at work today that i think will do the trick, been heavy equipment tech for yrs, got alot of patience, everything i have done to her so far hasn't been easy, I always heard HD is for a hundred dollars, but i never heard they had the same attitude as a women.
It stands for "Hundred Dollars" when at the dealer, but "Heavy Drudgery" when working on many parts of it. The intake system qualifies, but think of it as a bonding experience with your bike and it won't be so bad. Also, have some adult beverages on hand.
don't quote me but I think the injectors that they changed to are 26* injectors , and they are labeled. maybe someone else knows for sure.
Just because you had it in a shop doesn't mean they even looked at the injectors if you didn't say something about it.
You can go to the harley website and put your vin # in and tell if it needs done too.

After the injector issue Bill03E mentioned, this would be the first suspect on my list. I had an intermittent misfire and high-idle episodes, never at the same time, for over a year but sometimes with gaps of weeks between incidents. I changed plugs, gas brands, fuel hoses inside the tank, plug wires, and the IAC motor--but nothing worked beyond the short term. Incredibly difficult to diagnose! Finally, it started occurring every day, showing odd throttle-position values on my PV display (e.g. sometimes 10% at idle), and throwing repeated TPS codes. I changed the TPS and the bike has been burp-free for almost a year. It's a $31 part and I would try that as a starter after checking on the injector situation.
Keep in mind that TBW bikes have no TPS, at least not the mechanical type, so this fix applies only to cable-throttle bikes.
