I am 58 and still love going without the WS. 80% of my miles are without. When it's cold or raining it is nice to have though. Still think of it as a wimpshield.
Just rode about 10 miles this morning to meet my brother for coffee without the windscreen. What a friggin mistake! It's cold running down the freeway at 65. Upper 40's here & until it warms up substantially, the windscreen is staying on. At some point I would still like to add a detachable fairing when the funds permit. BTW, 47 y\o.
I have chronic tendonitis in both elbows resulting in 80% loss of grip strength in my hands-
so, i can't ride without a windscreen. Can i mention cruise control is a blessing for me as well.
The difference in riding with a windshield vs without out is like getting used to an Ultra and then gettting on a Sportster!
If we have an 80+ degree day I my take the windshield off my wife's Heritage and take a short bar hop. Otherwise, I'm on my Ultra with the windshield and fairing, and lower fairings year 'round.
didn't get one on my 08 fatboy because of the wind in your face freedom your a wimp if you have one bit, but one came on my current 01 RK (Cee Bailey windshield, blue tint) and i gotta say i'm hooked! i love it! don't wanna ride NOWHERE without it!
