Spend the $$, I'll never own a bike without it now.

Pros - it can save you from a crash.
cons - it costs about $1000 (which is much less than the above stated crash)

In 26 years of riding, I've only had one accident. If I had been riding a bike with ABS I probably would not have gone down. I will never own another bike without ABS. It is a non-negotiable part of motorcycle ownership for me.

How much road rash are you willing to endure for $1,000.00?

I have adressed this issue before. Harley has the worst ABS system in the industry. BMW being superior. I dont ride BMW, but I compete against them. That being said, Proper braking skills will save you every time. Uncle may have panicked and hit the rear brake only, which launch him into the intersection. just saying.

actually the price is no diff..one dealer I have connections with has one with ABS and offered it to me for the same price as a local dealer did on the same bike without it...cause was looking at a denim black.

Definitely will not have one without it now. It saved me the first time someone turned in front of me while DWHUA.

When I was considering a new bike I took ABS off the list of must haves. Ended up choosing a Road King Classic which has ABS as standard equipment. I now believe on any future bikes ABS will be a must have
