On an 09 Ultra, there a sensor(?), that goes into the engine. This item is about 3 inches below the CKP sensor mount. I think i have an oil leak from this area, and need to know what it is.....

Thanks.

I can probably get a pic, if that would help...

You talking about the stator plug?

I think thats where im getting a slight leak from. Looking at the manual, that doesnt look like a pleasant prospect to fix.

I get a drop or two on the floor, after riding. No drops when the bike has been sitting, just after a ride.

I just did an oil change, could i have damaged the seal?

I doubt you damaged it when doing an oil change. First thing is to verify that it is indeed leaking. When you did your oil change did you make a mess when taking off the filter? Sometimes oil can drip down from being residual from a filter change after making a mess. On the '11 models they came out with a new stator plug that now utilizes 3 o-rings.

The easiest fix if it's the stator plug is to thoroughly clean the area and seal it up with Black RTV. My '11 Limited started leaking there, I repaired it as desbribed, and it hasn't leaked a drop since. Here's a link to the thread that describes the repair in detail. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-oil-leak.html

I use aluminum foil under the filter when changing the oil so as not to get it all over. Just an idea.
