Default Got my Ultra back!

It's been 10 weeks since the crash. I called Barnett's and the Service Manager said they had everything done on the bike except the gas tank (tank only had a small ding from the crash). He told me since the bike is a Peace Officer SE the tank is a restricted part and they had tosupplythe factory with the bike's VIN just to order it. He said they didn't know how much longer it would be before the tank came in. I asked him if I could pick up the bike and bring it back when the tank showed up, and he said no problem. I picked it up yesterday, 10 weeks to the day after the crash, androde it 55 miles back to the house. It felt GOOD! The wife was nervous as cat in a room full of rocking chairs following me home, but I was asat easeasI've ever been on a bike, and the Ultra is getting some miles as soon as the kids start back to school!

It's good that you are back in the saddle but ten weeks in the shop sucks. Is that normal? I've been lucky I guess and never had a crash that required major repairs but if my car was in the shop for ten weeks I would be raising cain. Old man Barnett, if he is still there, seemed like a pretty nice guy years ago when I met him. I would have asked him to help me out on this time frame. Anyway, glad you have it back.

Since it's a special edition, the painted parts aren't on the shelf, so to speak. Also, the 10 weeks is more mine and the insurance company's fault. I didn't really start the claim work until almost 2 weeks after the crash, so it was at least 3 weeks after before I got the check from the insurance and told Barnetts to order the parts. Most of the parts were there 2 weeks after that, but the painted parts have been kind of slow.

As for Sherm, I believe he's still around the dealership in El Paso, but you don't see much of him, I think he's kind of semi-retired now. I'm dealing with Barnett's in Las Cruces, his daughter runs that store. Great folks to deal with!
