Default Bummed by MoCo

I have my ride at the dealership being repaired due to an accident back in May. They have been waiting on a fuel tank for about 5-6 weeks. The service guy called today and said that the MoCo said there is a problem with the primer and it will be mid August before they can get it worked out. I responded, does that mean I can't get my bike till mid August? He said no. Mid August before primer problem is solved. Late September till we have the tank. Damnit ! We settled on him fixing everything but the tank and giving it back to me so I don't lose the whole summer and changing out the tank when it comes in. Seems like a long wait for something they should be very interested in fixing at the MoCo. I would think something as major as paint would be top priority.

i know how your feeling, had a minor accident june 30th, bike went to the dealer for the estimate a week later. they had the bike for 2 weeks before they gave me an estimate which consisted of only looking at the bike, i went in that day to give the money for the parts to be ordered and them to start the work...the ba$tards didnt order the parts till a week later(this past friday) and said it will be bout 10 days for them to show up, then some of them off to powder coater and when i asked how long they usually take they said 1-2 weeks. im not even sending the rear fender to get paint cuz thats easily another 3 weeks to go to cali and back so it can wait til fall/winter since there is only 2 chips in it. basically im frustrated cuz they have had the bike for 3 weeks and havnt done a f**king thing to it.

Go back to the dealership and make sure they take care of everything! Mine's been in since mid-April. I've caught a few things they had yet to start on. They told me it was ready to pick up 2 weeks ago. They still hadn't taken care of one of the parts, installed wrong parts, and broke even another part.......

i have not had any luck with the dealers in my area, the one i bought my bike from is only about a mile from my house and have had nothing but problems with their service department 3 times, all within a month of owning my bike, this summer i had this minor accident and went and talked to them and they didnt act like they wanted the work by askin where the bike was at and said i might wanna have the bike towed somewhere closer to where it was....so at that point i said f*** it im not giving them the work and i heard great things about the other dealer (the one its currently at) and it is the next closest one but still about 30 mins away...and this first experience has not been the best yet. i mean really..3 weeks to just order the parts, on top of that a week after i gave them the money to do so. to add to it all the communication blows, everytime i am told they would call me they never do, the next day after they say i will hear from them i call and its always rushed. im half tempted to try and figure out who the district/regional manager for the dealers are and give him a call/email

why not get a nonpainted tank and have it done by a shop in your area. Not sure if I would wait that long

I've heard numerous issues with parts from dealers claiming that due to cost cutting, the MOCO is slow at stock/ordering/manufacturing parts within a reasonable timeframe. I guess that is what happens now that we have bean counters running the MOCO. Good Luck...
