Consider this..... probably a lot of people who post here don't own Harleys.
Point taken, not trying to be negative. Just pointing out what I have heard. I do however love the AMF reference. And yes, I do own a Harley. Anyone want to buy an 11 Voltage Regulator????
I have a 2012 SG with almost 5000 miles and it runs great. I have a little problem with my maps but that is because I'm using a power vision with stage 1 upgrade. It just needs a little tuning. Can't speak for others. Anyways, that is what the warranty if for... I have 5 years and I'm glad I got it. I used it on my 07 RKC. - metal in crank case...
My voltage regulator died with less than 300 miles on the bike. My bike was stuck at the dealer for a week along with 6 other 2012 touring bikes with the same issue. 3 of them were orange that had the chrome regulators.
HD has the voltage regulators on back order so I don't think this is a limited number of people that are having issues. They could have switched to a new vendor or changed something with the regulators that is causing the issue.
I have had 1500 trouble free miles since having the regulator replaced.
I do believe that you certainly are likely to read about problems rather than no problem on the forums. Not likely someone is going to post a thread that's titled "No problems with my bike". That being said: I haven't had any problems with my 2012 FLHRC - Knock on wood.
