HD has the voltage regulators on back order so I don't think this is a limited number of people that are having issues. They could have switched to a new vendor or changed something with the regulators that is causing the issue.

I have had 1500 trouble free miles since having the regulator replaced.

My 2011 Softail had zero issues after 8000 miles.
but, consider this. the voltage regulator has a part number of 74505-09, which means that this iteration came out in 2009. there is nothing special about this regulator that is different in the 2012, than 2009, 2010, or 2011. so i would not say that it is a specific problem with the 2012 model, but more likely a bad batch of voltage regulators, which could easily be on any year model bike......

I like that. I read that 07's were the only ones with problems. I have 67k on mine with just a few things that were not right.

I am sure most happy '12 owners aren't posting their happiness either. How many times do people bitch about a restaurant's poor service, yet never go out of their way to compliment good service? There ya go. Ruining a perfectly good thread with a lot of potential for entertainment with all that logical crap.

2006 FXDBI 6k miles, no problems
2006 FLSTNI 25k miles, no problems
2012 FLHX 5k miles, no problems

the only problem is the maintenance intervals of 5k seems to come quicker...

Saw a couple of posts on here involving orange bikes. Maybe its not a 2012 thing maybe its an orange bike thing? Glad I bought a red bike... I guess I'll keep it. Honestly, its not related to money at all!

I just liked the quote - not related to my post in any way. Gold Wing owners are way bigger complainers though.

I got one of the first 2012 Road Glide Ultras in my area - picked it up August 20. I had two issues - both minor. I had the left front saddlebag bracket come loose - no big deal. And one end of the script Harley Davidson on the Tour Pak came loose. That was a plus because my dealer removed it and, per my request, just handed me the new one, which I didn't want installed anyway.

I proclaim my satisfaction and happiness with my '11 Limited! Had it since July of '10...almost 20K miles. No problems and it runs great! Sorry.
