I thought after your previous post I might have been confused between TTS and Thundermax. My tuner has told me you can do the most with the TTS and SE tuner you can also do smart tune with the SE tuner I've never done it but some have Ive read that do it I'm not patient enough or smart enough for that.I am probly at 10:3 to 10:4 with mine.your correct with stock flattops in a 103 but if you had the heads CC'd and milled you could get it to that 10:1 area.

You don't really need to get at 10.2:1 to make the 54H run nice. Heck, let's just "assume" these numbers as averages: 103" flat tops (.004 deck hght), 86cc chamber (mine were at 84.5) and a .030 head gasket will get you right at 10.01:1 static with a nice 185ccp. That's a nice place to be with the Andrews cam. Just some thought info ...

Well, I finally got my bike back??? Put almost 300 break-in miles on yesterday. Not impressed at this point??? I hope it's a really bad tune (went with a PC5)?? They said it was set rich for break-in? It runs ok, there is a little stumble off idle, but not really much improvement over stock?? I'll get another couple hundred miles on and take it back. On the plus side, the SE compensator stopped the primary clunk and the SE clutch spring doesn't make the pull much more than stock.

OK another update. I got the 500 miles on and service done. They installed an autotune and told me to ride another 1000 miles then they will recheck the tune. It runs much better but mileage still sucks! It isn't fast (I also ride sport bikes) but better than stock and now has tolerable passing power. Runs much easier in 6th at 70-90. I can actually see 100 pretty easily (like 85-90 before). But all in all I'm not sure it was worth the 2500+ bucks to get it all done??? I'll put some more miles on and get back to ya.

7 cubic inches is a big deal when the tuning end comes in to the picture. A 96 would need more lift in the cam and have to rev out higher to make as much power as a similarly built 103. And then rideabilty becomes an issue.
I went 106 simply because it cost was cheaper than going with a 103( in Canada we pay the Deeley tax) so it was a no brainer. I got 107hp/115tq. None of my friends can keep up and cruising at 70mph I get 45mpg.

I know this is my old thread but I finally got around to putting it on a dyno and getting it tuned (J T & S Performance). Started out with 104 ft lbs and 96 hp but the fuel ratio was screwed! Rich at both ends and lean in the middle with Fuelmoto canned map plus auto tune? Tunning only brought the peaks up to 109 ft lbs and 99 hp but it does run nicer and I'm hoping for better fuel mileage? Pretty sure it would get more HP by raising the rev limit because it is making peak hp at the rev limiter and still has good torque there? I really don't need to twist it that far? May last a little longer with the lower limit? I am pretty surprised with the results? I really didn't think it had that much power? I guess these heavy bikes really need A LOT of power to excite me? Asked the guys how there dyno reads and they said reads pretty normal, about 5% lower than most dynojets. They were impressed for stock heads and header. Nice torque over 100 ft lbs from 2500 past 5000! Guess it was worth it!
