Went to the demo days at the local harley dealer this weekend, tried out a 2012 trike, never rode one before, took some getting used to on the cornering but started getting used to it, I can see where people get hooked on them.
Any of you folks had experience with them good or bad you would like to share? My knees are getting bad so been kinda looking at them.
Lots of people going to trikes. With age or health problems like knees and backs, it is good to have something to ride. And some people just like them with no health problems. My wife has a Can-Am Spyder that is a blast to ride.
My sister in law had a trike conversion done on her SG... thing rides smooth and it is a hoot to ride. Before the conversion she would ride every now & then. Now ? She isn't home long enough to cook dinner for her family lol
No personal experience but a friend just ordered one. He lost his right leg in a motorcycle accident years ago. He is waiting for the dealer to revamp the brake system to actuate from the right hand lever, front and rear because of his prosthetic right leg. We should be riding together this summer!
I have a Honda VTX trike in the stable and LOVE it!! It's my local show bike (straight black and chrome only) so I don't ride much. When I do, it's a pure joy. The oddest things is wanting to lean into curves when you don't need to. Also, you have to actually turn the handlebar where you counter steer on a 2-wheeler.
A couple weeks ago, I was driving through the lower end of Buckhead in Altanta when I stopped at a light. A guy was trying to look good in front of his wife and another couple when he made a comment about how motorcycle shouldn't have training wheels. He didn't think I was close enough to hear him. I put it in neutral, walked over to them and simply asked him what he drove. He was shocked that I heard him much less walked over to him. He stammered in his response and found out he didn't ride anything. I turned to walk away and commented to the group, it takes a big ***** to talk **** like he did when he doesn't even have the ***** to ride himself. I got on the bike, winked at his wife making her smile and drove off. I'm really getting tired of how people feel it is the place to make comment on others simply because of jealousy and this one pushed me over the line.

I test rode a Can-Am Spyder RT Limited this past weekend. Very impressive liquid cooled 998cc with its 100 hp and all of the standard equipment. factory cruise control, Garmin GPS, 4 speaker stereo system and more. At 900 plus lbs. it pretty heavy and gets around 40 mpg. Over-all, very well built.
