Riding an 09FLHTP, and ready to upgrade the windsheild. Running the extra tall police issue. I need something that is about 9" tall from the fairing. What do you suggest?
Also looking to add a windsheild bag. What are you all running?
I know a lot of you have done the experimentaion and have figured out what works, let me know so I don't have to try them all.
i use a rotozip to cut the bottom edge of the stock H-D Lexan windscreen to desired height.
takes 10 minutes if that.
easiest if you have a 2nd windscreen to use as a template to mark the cut. make the keyholes a little wider and you can swap them easier and faster.
I cut mine so the top edge appears about 40' in front of the bike. I use different height seats so have -1, -2 and -3".
a clear windscreen doesn't appear as large as a tinted, and any stock style will work with a bag ( I use the Tbag), the "recurve" styles may not.
As noted above, Lexan is a brand name of polycarbonate. My windscreen took at apple sized rock at 65 MPH that would have broken my face...just a little mark
