WideOpen4Life, thanks for posting the pictures. Reading this thread will probably help someone down the road with similar issues.

UPDATE....

Thought I had a bad injector, let soak in carb and choke for about 10 minutes. Tried to clean out again with my "poorboy" cleaner and it sprayed like a champ. Bolted everything back up and turned ignition and she purrs like a kitten!! Time to give it a quick detail and take her for a ride! Thanks to all that offered advice or sent me service pages. Anyone that's never pulled injectors and thinking about tackling the job, feel free to ask for info.

Hello to all
Any ideas on a 99 Road King efi police bike has a USB 3 programer 16k miles
It was running fine started to backfire out the exhaust on decel then it started having a problem starting like had to hit it 3-4 times before it would start then it started ran for about 2 min then stalled and hasn't started back up since replaced the battery just because it was a couple yrs old not getting any codes seems to have fuel spark is their but seems to be weak to me anyway haven't put an ohms on it yet. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated was told the stator would do that but its never had any problems at all with charging.

1999 Touring.
#1 That time frame had a report of fuel injector wires breaking inside insulation for wire.
A continuity meter would measure continuity because one strand in the multi-strand wire still made contact but wire was essentially broken inside insulation.
Wire broke because it was too tight.
#2 I believe the 1999 also has the tilt sensor/vehicle attitude sensor BRACKET that sometimes breaks and makes bike think it fell on its side.
It might have been a recall.
When that tilt sensor is triggered the bike will not start.

Quick and free: The fuel line quick disconnect on the bottom of the tank sometimes restricts or stops the flow of fuel. Disconnecting it and then reconnecting it usually fixes that problem. Of course if this isn't the problem, this won't help but at least that possibility has been ruled out. Squirting some carb cleaner or placing a few drops of fuel into the intake and then trying to start should tell you which one of combustion requirement is missing. If the engine fires a few times, you have a fuel problem, if it doesn't fire at all, start checking the ignition system. Is the fuel pump priming? If not, cycle the kill switch off and on several times, then be sure to leave it in the on position. Kill switches have been known to occasionally malfunction. If the fuel pump is working, get a flashlight, remove the tank cap, and turn on the master switch. If there is a little disturbance in the fuel that is normal, if fuel is gushing in the tank, you have a hole in one of the fuel lines or the fuel filter bowl has cracked. The stuff above is all "on the money" also.
