Default 2006 Ultra Classic Engine Cough

Bike has a stage 1 w/ download & hooker true dual pipes. It has what I call a cough or slite spit at the injection/ air filter sect. at low speeds,, at high speeds its great. Would a leaky intake/ exhuast gaskets cause this, like it would on a carburated bike?

Ive been looking at the dynojet power vision tuner, any suggestions would help! Thanks, Troy

A leak might cause that, yes. Have the injectors been replaced from the 8* to 25* injectors yet?

Hey Dawg,I have a 2006 Ultra with Stage 1 and SuperTrapp and it isn't showing any of the other guy's problems but I'm interested in the reason why you're asking if the injectors have been replaced from the 8 to 25.Is there a reason they should be replaced? Thanks

Some of the 06s had 8 degree injectors. They have been known to cause " drive ability issues". Mine had 8 degree injectors. Never really had a problem but I changed them to the replacement 25 degree injectors anyway.

The 8 degree injectors were problematic as skydude stated. Some folks' bikes had been known to cough and die in the middle of traffic, thus causing a safety issue. The remedy was to change them out to 25 degree injectors that HD came out with.

Heres a link to a PDF of the service bulletin that covers this problem. It has pictures of the two injectors and the part numbers.

IS there a way to tell which one you have in the bike? That is thru a visual inspection - part stamp on the injector?

I've a 2006 UCEG. No issues at all with the stage 1 on my bike. BUT wondering IF I'd notice an improvement switching IF the bike has the OEM 8's.

???

THANKS!
