what to see on PCH
much, much better for scenery.
Hearst Castle is a pretty cool stop, but takes a while to really take it all in.

- Up in Malibu you can veer off and ride Mullhulond Drive and stop at the Rock Store. Very popular spot on Sundays with the occasional celebrity spotting.
- San Luis Obispo to Monterey is Beautiful through Big Sur
- Golden Gate Bridge and the Crazy Streets of SF
- Past SF turns into 101 and you can exit on Avenue Of The Giants which is an awesome road surrounded by huge redwood trees

Take the San Marcos pass over to Solvang via 154. An awesome motorcycle museum in Solvang, worth the stop, http://www.motosolvang.com/
The Mulholland and and Topanga canyons are worth the rides, and the Rock Store is pretty cool, lots of neat bikes. We rode up a few to 101 and back to the water a few times, just riding different canyon roads.
San Luis Obispo up PCH thru Big Sur to Carmel is AMAZING! I could ride that road up and down every day and not get tired of it. I live right on the ocean on the east coast, and never get tired of any road that runs along the water!
17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach is closed to motorcycles, but Ocean Drive around Pacific Grove is just as pretty. We also rode thru Hwy 16 thru the Carmel Valley, lots of twisties and alot of fun.
Really it depends on how long you got...we had 13 days and rode 1800 miles, and on three of those days, we never got on a bike as we either walked around the town we were in or did a wine tour (no riding on that day!)
Can't go wrong on PCH...best part was after we got to San Francisco, we had to turn around and ride back down the PCH!
