Sometimes on the way down I hit her feet or the passenger boards an it makes me a bit nervous for a second.
Sounds like you should lower your bike and get a different seat. I am 5'8" now with a 28" inseam. I got my bike lowered 1" front and rear and got a Sundowner seat. Lowering it not only gave me flatter footing, it helped the bike handle better lowering the center of gravity. know one inch doesn't sound like much, but it makes a big difference.

Its raining in NY- Im going to ride the bike in a few days and see if maybe im dragging my feet a bit before I stop but at very very slow speeds this happens.. Like 3 inches before I stop.. Not yards etc..
If the seat is shaved enough to make you flat footed but you have to reach arms forward for the bars then maybe it places you too far back. The further back your hips sit the closer your feet are to the passenger floor boards when you drop them. Kinda like a geometry puzzle.

AS i come to a stop an im wanting to put my feet down on the way down I hit her feet/floorboard.. I still get my feet down but I dont like it.. Im not asking about dropping the bike that isnt my concern, my concern is hitting her feet at 5 out of 15 stops..
You take the MSF advanced 2-up course with your bike.

I just looked at the picture of your bike and that front seat looks like it rides way back. It would seem that at 5 foot 8 you either have long arms, long legs or would be riding hunched forward to reach the bars and your leg positioning would be all out of wack...but i was just trying to "read" a picture.
I saw the same thing! When I use my C&C solo seat with passenger pillion I have the same problem hitting the passenger boards and feet. I quit using that seat for two up and went to a stock ultra seat and have no problems at all. Since you reach for the bars you should probably find a seat that is comfortable and sits you farther forward. I don't know about Danny Grey but C&C will make you a seat that will sit you farther forward and lower. A new seat with the comfort saddle bag gaurds should help a bunch. I know it is not cheap to swap those items out but dropping the bike and passenger may not be cheap either.

Only time I hit the boards is when backing the bike up.

If you put your feet down while you're still moving, the bike will drag your feet/legs back into the boards.

I know what you are talking about..it happens with my wife too....she's learned that when we are stopping that she slightly moves her feet out (pointing out away from the bike)...that seems to help a lot. She wears pointy boots and they sometimes dig into my calf when we come to a stop. Its just one of those things to get use to and would depend on the size of your wifes shoes/boots

def sounds like you need those adjustable pegs. from looking at your bike, and after you said you're short I can see how your legs are having a hard time clearing those floorboards. Good luck!

I had the same problem on my 04 RK Custom. As others said practice (you will still probably bump backing up a little) but since your shorter lowering it 1" would help and also some seats are designed to put you more forward which helps if your "vertically impared". If its in your price range and you want the little woman to be happy, and you too check out a Russell day long seat. The previous owner put one on my bike and man! I never sat on a more comfortable seat my wife has back issues and loves it we do 6-8hrs no problem. I dont mean to sound like an add but these seats really do what they say.
