The one from H-D is 109.99 and the one from Grasshopper is 99.99. Anybody got any ideas on these two? I had the one from Grasshopper on my VTX and it was awesome, gone up on the price though.
I've had no experience with those, but don't let a few bux steer you away from making the right choice for your lower back. Hope you find one that fits you well.
I have a bad back so the backrest on my Mustang seat is worth a million dollars to me. Sorry, didn't look at the links but if you can do a backrest you will love it.
I have the Harley backrest as pictured with the adjustable rider backrest mounting kit. I like it.. The adjustable rider backrest mounting kit is and extra $219.95. It was already on my bike when I bought it.

I could never get either of the Harley backrests where I felt comfortable. I bought the new Kuryakyn Plug-in backrest and am totally sold on it. The Kuryakyn is less expensive too. I found it listed for $152.95, called the folks at Dennis Kirk and they price matched it. The Kuryakyn comes complete, fits both the old frame and new frame touring bikes.
There is also the utopia backrest, that goes for a bit under $200, and the mustang backrest that goes for right around $200. Both of those are quite well reviewed on here, although I have never used either.
I personally have tried both of the harley backrests and they both seem to push me forward onto the tank, perhaps there is a little too much me around the middle, or perhaps I am just not used to them. Utopia makes a $15 or so bracket that sets their backrest back an inch or two, which might make it worth it.
I haven't seen any bad reviews of the utopia, just not a huge number of them out there. The mustang gets pretty good reviews too, just some people have a little issue with the backrest loosening up and moving around a bit. In general the harley rests get good reviews, especially the adjustable one, but it is very expensive compared to the other options, but it does have a bunch more adjustments.
I haven't found very much about the grasshopper, other than it is cheap and pretty well made.
