Default S100

Bought a can of S100 awhile back and decided to try it today. Was a little cautious with the warning of not letting dry, see manual for areas not to spray, and some things I read on HDForum (both good & bad). Did not go above the tank, but used everywhere else, wheels, exhaust, brake disc's. I had the hose standing by like a fire fighter waiting for a flare up. Don't think I left it on for more than 30 seconds and I did see some grime or discoloration in the foam. My question to all that continue to use the product is how long do you allow it stay on, 1, 2, 3 minutes? Where would you not spray it? How long do you wait to crank it after washing?

Thanks

Sorry bro, I will just not use this. Dont like what it looks like if it dries. Use the S100 Spray wax faithfully though.

I don't spray the whole bike down, I just work an area at a time. I spray the area and then immediately wash it down, I don't let it soak. I rinse at low pressure so that I don't get the next area wet. I rinse from the top down and keep rinsing until the water is clean, then move onto the next area. After I finish the last area I rinse the whole bike again just to make sure all of it is off, then start drying. I've been using S100 for at least 10 years, it's very effective if you don't let a lot of grime build up inbetween washes.

I let S100 sit about 30 seconds then hose it off with lots of rinse water. It's best to work a small area at a time. Bike Brite works just as well. It costs less and is not as harsh as S100 if it dries.

I've used it for twenty years and never had a problem? Always thought it was pretty mild?? What kind of problems are people having?

Make sure the bike is cool, and in the shade. I wet it down 1st. spray the whole thing and wet it lightly if need be, wash away, rinse with lots of cold water. Never had a problem. Cuts right thru road grime and works like a charm. Just keep the bike wet when using it.

After the second muffler end cap was replaced under warranty for pealing chrome the service manager asked me if I was using S100 bike wash because both times it was the low-side (kickstand) where moisture would collect. He apparently had some experience with this before.

I always blow dry and detail after wet washing but there is no way to completely rinse a MC - too many little nooks and crannies. There is nothing better than car wash soap containing a mild soap that won’t strip wax and a water softener to help prevent water spots.

I use it all the time, but spray it off thoroughly right after applying it. Works great!

This is the second discussion in less than two weeks about S-100. I use it on everything, top down and I wash my bikes after practically every ride since I live on long gravel roads. This means it gets washed, a 15 minute wash, at least 3 times or more a week. Never a spotting issue or a chrome peeling issue or any issue with it for that matter, except a nice shiny and constantly commented on bike. It is not harsh as some mention. Any spotting from leaving it on too long is based on concentration of product. To each his own.
