Good day all i hv a 2009 S/G with 5200 miles (stage one). When accelerating/riding/downshifting through 1500-2100 RPM the fairing shakes quite a bit which in turn vibrates the mirrors. I tightened mirrors and any other bolt i could find under the fairing cover and checked the fairing brackets and both are fine. Anything above 2100RPM all is good. At idle it seems to be ok..nothing above normal
shaking. If anyone has ideas on what else i can look at it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your replies.
Chris.
Have you tried making sure everything that should have clearance has clearance? I know on my bike i've had things slip, then I got vibration and went and tightened it, but forgot to move things back to where they should be first, so I got "transfered" vibration if that makes sense?
Did it just start doing it? The fairing braces are prone to breaking and when they do it causes excessive fairing vibration. If that's the problem there are some threads on fixing it and there are some aftermarket fix kits as well. It's pretty pricey to replace with OEM parts and from what I've read they'll just break again anyway.
Longrides can u give me an example of what might slip? Thanks.
Hard to say really, could be anything! On mine my windscreen is mounted by 2 "arms" and the arms had come loose enough that the shield "rotated" down on the speedo and was vibrating. This is on a different bike than yours though, so it was just kind of "general" advice. Sorry if that doesn't help much. It sounds like you're getting vibration in the whole fairing right? I'd just go over the whole thing and make sure nothing is touching that shouldn't be. I know that's kind of vague, but it's hard to put into words...Sorry. On mine it was just the contact between the shield and the instrument panel. A piece of foam weatherstripping type material between the two fixed it if that helps!

Architect..it was doing it last year at the end of season so took it apart to tighten mirrors. It went into storage afterward for winter. Tightening them helped but still getting mirror shake within those rpm ranges while moving. I checked the fairing brackets last week and they seem fine. From what i understand they break at the top but mine arent broken on either side. Im kinda stumped at this point.
Still no luck? If I get a chance tomorrow I'll go have a look at one of our shop bikes and see if I can't find some other possibilities to investigate! Vibrating sucks, drove me nuts!
