After surfing the web and failing to find helpful info, I'm making my first post on this site.
My bike won't start. I rode it as usual the last time I rode it. Wheeled into the garage with engine idling. Shut down using the STOP switch, then turned off the ignition, just as I've done hundreds of time before. The next day ... the bike won't start.
Fully charged, perfectly good battery. I've replaced ... out of frustration and the old adage: "Do something, even if it's wrong" ... all the fuses and all the relays.
I've cleaned all the grounds. Continuity is not a problem. No codes are set. The bike does not have an alarm system, so I can rule that out as a problem.
So I turn on the ignition. All the dash lights appear to work properly. Head light and passing lights illuminate. Tail lights, brake light, and turn signals work. Hit the RUN/STOP switch ... I don't hear the fuel pump pumping up. Instead, I hear a couple of clicks from somewhere beneath the gas tank ... atop the frame, I'm guessing.
Hit the START button ... engine turns over strong, but doesn't start.
Open your gas cap and then turn the switch on...If you see fuel spraying inside of your fuel tank your fuel filter shell might have blown...There was a recall on the fuel filter shell in 2008
so no change at all after you have checked fuses and grounds etc. ( the fuel pump has it's own 15A fuse doesn't it ? sorry but I am looking at my 09 manual which may differ)
Seems to be persistant lack of fuel pump ?

Check out your start relay. Bike will turn over but not start. This happened to me, luck was on my side it was at a dealership. I now carry a spare relay. How this helps.
If you have a service manual, do the checks it tells you to do for testing the fuel pump. My guess is, from your description, is your fuel pump crapped out.
