The audio on my HK stereo keeps cutting in and out. Similar sound as when you lose satellite reception. Thought it was a loose wire and it only happens when hitting bumps, but it happens at red lights also. I've noticed that it doesn't happen right away. Only after about 30 min ride.
Happens on radio as well as iPod connected to aux input.
Its a 2009 FLHX and recently had dealer install HD cb.
The radio stays on, just the audio fades in and out.
Any suggestions before I take off the fairing. Thinking a loose connection or maybe a bad ground. But if it was a bad ground, wouldn't the whole radio shut down.
More than likely your HK radio has suffered from vibration damage. It is a big problem with these radios. If your out of warranty your solution is iron cross audio. They are the HK radio repair experts. My 08 had the same problem. Power to the unit works but the audio cuts out. My guess is it's not a loose wire or a bad ground. Over time the problem will just get worse. Check out their website and do a search here on this forum and you will see you are not alone with this issue. http://www.ironcrossaudio.com/
Did it do this before the dealer installed the cb?
forgot to mention that it did not do this prior to the cb install. the cb was installed about a month ago and just noticed the problem about two weeks ago.
Was thinking also that maybe to radio was on it's way out or maybe when they did the intercom download?
