I have allways worn leathers but I am looking for a different kind of pants. I have tried chaps dont like them, I dont ride in jeans not enoough protection. Draggin jeans not enough protection. I am looking for a textile pant with armor that is very comfortable. I usually wear long underwear under leathers. Not looking for an over pant to wear over jeans. Impact and abrasion resistance, and comfort is what I am looking for. The price is not important. I have looked at sport pants with knee pucks not my thing. If it sounds like I am parenoid, I have been down a few times and was lucky enough to walk away because of my gear, any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks
I have not tried these but I here good things about Motoport clothing. They will custom make pants in 600 or 1000 denier nylon off of your favorite jeans that you send them. Waterproof liners, armor etc. are all options. I am interested to hear what replies you get as I am in that market too.
BMW makes excellent riding gear, they sell textile pants called City pants that may fit the bill. I have owned and worn a pair for many years. The armor provides great coverage in the knee, shins and hips area, it's light weight and the gear is functional. Best of all the roundel is not plastered all over the gear.
Go pantless! Just kidding, don't do that. I have a pair of Alpinestars "street cargos" that I wear. I've actually "road" tested them on the sport bike when the neighbors dog ran in front of me. Walked away with zero injuries and the pants had a touch of road burn, but otherwise unmarked. I bought 2 more pairs ofter that. I wear them to work almost every day. I think they come in tan and black. Icon also has some different ones that aren't overly "logo" ridden etc. They also have removable armor at knees and shins that goes inside pants, not pucks. and removable quilted liner for cold weather
oh and Fieldsheer is another one I like. Good company
here's the Alpies-- PS Jeans= bad in a wreck. I used to be a paramedic. Having blue jeans scrubbed out of your skin with a wire brush does not look fun, for what it's worth. Just my .02 for the jean idea
