Default New 2012 Street Glide owner here.

Picked up my 2012 Street Glide after lengthy thoughts of trading in my 2007 FatBoy. Took it for a short ride tonight and I can see some mods have to come quick.
Like windshield (to much buffeting)
different seat (one that sits me back and down in the bike),
floorboard extensions ( the longs legs need to stretch), not a fan of highway pegs, in fact may even remove the engine guard)
louder pipes, (need noise not more power)

so, with that short list but longer list to come I'm looking for suggestions on brands, styles and ideas for those mods.

I might add, I had the biggest smile on my face when taking the new SG for it's first ride. Going to miss the FatBoy but I will adjust.

Like windshield (to much buffeting)
May not be the windshield, many people (me included) find that the real problem is too much air coming up from under the fairing and creating turbulence in the low pressure zone behind the windshield. There are threads on the various options for fixing this, the most popular seem to be batwing deflectors and/ or fork deflectors. I had extreme turbulence with a full-face on, went with the fork deflectors and the turbulence is completely gone.

different seat (one that sits me back and down in the bike)
C&C is a good option, the standard is 1" back and 1" down from stock but they will make it however you want it.

in fact may even remove the engine guard)
There are a couple of threads about tipovers that might change your mind on this. The bar can mean a difference between zero damage or hundreds of bucks worth. I didn't care for the stock bar, so changed to a black Linbar which I love.

louder pipes, (need noise not more power)
Lots of options there, I went with 4" Rineharts and feel they are perfect. Nice rumble at idle, good roar under throttle, but relatively quiet at cruise speeds on the highway.

Congrats and enjoy the search for mods. I sure like the Fullsac baffles I installed in my stock pipes and just removed the cat from the headpipes. I did spend a bit more on the Powervision tuner though.

Congrats on the new scoot. Nice choice.

You will get many options on the windshields. I am 5'11" and use a 6.5 windshield. The other thing I did for buffeting was to get glasses with a strap and made sure they fit the bridge of my nose.

Congrats again on the new ride!

Klock Werks 8.5" wind screen removed almost all the buffeting.
