Exhaust Cover Boot Protector
Ride Safe,
Mike
I've seen these things on several bikes but can't find them to buy. I'm not even sure what they are called. I keep marking up the chrome exhaust covers on my flhttc with my boots while riding . It's only on the side with the brake pedal. This device is a bracket that prevents your boot from getting up against the exhaust cover. Does anyone know where I can buy these?
Went to Hard Krome T-Rex 3" true duals.
Totally eleminated boot melt down. Also has added feature of allowing the heat from rear cylinder to be sent out the left side pipe entirely and eleminates the "Y" pipe choke point of heat build up on the right side. And lastly it sounds and looks better!

I would like to do something to mine, but I don't want it too loud.

Hey RAM, nice looking exhaust. Did you do, or have to do, any other modifications as a result of the exhaust system. Any other benefits besides,

I first intalled the pipes, then about month laterI received all my parts to assemble an SE air filter assy. Installed the SE filter with the Vance & Hines Fuel Pac to counter the lean effects of the fuel mixture from less restrictive air intake.
Other then just these modifications, all other aspects of the engine and drive train are totally stock, with exception of H-D cylinder fan, H-D preimum oil cooler and running RedLine in three holes.
This combination works well enough. Popping on decel have all but been eleminated with the Fuel Pac. Over all responsiveness is feeling slightly improved with out much a change in fuel consumption which averages 37 to 38 mpg.
I find that I'm wanting more power and to break out of the RPM's limiter when on the hi-way at times.
I plan onupgrading withdual wide band o2 sensors and full timeclosed loop ECM system and changing out this exhaust to a 2 into 1 for the o2 sensors.
After that I'll re-evaluate what other changes, cam / gear drive / head work / 95 or 103 cylinders etc I plan on going with.
