Many thanks! The skull is over-the-top... which is why I dig it. I actually made it from a skull strobe light my wife had for Halloween. The eyes look wicked with the brakelight.

I put the 2" tank lift on and dropped the *** 2". I love it. Now I just need some wheels and finish it off with some killer paint.

Some of our dealers are Harley dealers. From time to time, when the dealer phones in his order, he lets me know that the fairing is going on a bike just purchased. The reason, most often being, you kinda get two bikes in one when you add that fairing to an RK. Bombing around town? Leave the fairing at home. Heading out on a trip? Add the fairing for the additional protection and tunes. I know this doesn't leave much room for the windshield, but, as long as the fairing is TRULY quick detach, you can trade in and out between the fairing and shield in seconds should you want to feel like Elvis for a day

Also, I can't tell you how many times I've been at the dealer, when a couple strolls in looking at bikes. One of them is looking at a Street Glide and their better half says, "I don't want one with that big ugly thing on the front!" What to do? Our dealers will let them know that the Road King can satisfy both of them with the addition of a detachable fairing that can be added or stripped in seconds.

I have a Reckless that I use in the winter here in Western Washington as it affords more weather protection. That said, it is only on from the end of October or early November and remains on into February.

I love the look of the Road King. In the winter rain, nobody is looking at your bike so the looks of the fairing are balanced by more wind protection.

I had the radio installed by Reckless. it sounds okay but I decided that I just don't need a radio. It seems more of an around town thing, not open hwy. There is better ways to listen to music than through speakers on a fairing.

There are plenty of pictures of Reckless Fairings. Since mine is only on in the winter, I don't have a photo of my RK with the fairing on. Everytime I was going to take a photo it was too wet for the camera/phone or I was too wet to care or to take the time.

I probably never will, just toyed with the idea.... now ericl fairing fits the bike GREAT!!! looks awesome!!!

10350 black windshield looks GREAT on that bike too, not sure how it would look on mine though...

I am looking for something different, my windshield is too tall, and want one a little different.
What look are you looking for?

So you guys that have the detached fairing and a windshield, dose the fairing keep a lot more wind off of you then the shield?
I see they come in gloss black, will that look ok with vivid black?...Thanks.

I personally noticed a HUGE difference. I prefer the wind deflection of the fairing. Others may disagree though. I researched that very question like mad before I bought mine. Seems it was about 50/50.

I didn't paint my fairing. You can tell the difference between the paint, but I don't care.

You do get added protection around the hands due to the wings of the fairing. And the upward protection is flexible, as you can adjust it by swapping windshields.

We sell more unpainted fairings for black bikes than painted. The gel coat is a CLOSE match. The finish is polished and can be waxed. That said, you will see a slight difference in direct sunlight. When in the sun, the gel coat takes on a slight charcoal cast, where a painted part would not. In the shade, you'd never know the difference.
