Help...Potential spoke wheel issues?
The time has come to replace the tires on my 07 RK. Found a set of almost new WWWs mounted on a set of laced spoke wheels that came off an 07 RK and could get them at a pretty good price. Here's the question: never having had laced spoke rims, are there potential issues with them that I need to be aware of before swapping out the OEM mag rims?

check for rust, loose/broken spokes.
a spoke wheel that is not "true" is straightened by tensioning the spokes-
spoke wheels require inner tubes.
get a good nylon bristle brush that'll fit between the spokes for wash day.
check the DOT date code on the tires 6 years is max- lots of old tires have tread, but not flexibility

I've never had a problem with spokes, but when I got my RKC, I swapped for cast wheels because I plan a lot of long trips this summer (and hopefully beyond), and I want to reduce the number of potential trip killers. Spokes are nice looking but for me, too much failure potential, however rare.
Yes!! keeping the bloody things clean,particularly the spokes unless they're stainless
