I did a search and didn't find anyone else with this exact problem.
Everything works great except for the voice navigation commands through the speakers in my helmet.
When it gives a voice command, it triggers the intercom and all I hear is wind noise. Made sure the navigation volume was up all the way, tinkered with the VOX sensitivity and even turned the intercom off.
How did you make sure the navigation volume is turned up? Did you adjust the volume while the GPS was giving directions? Or did you just adjust it internally on the GPS?
Today is the first time I've really tinkered with it. On the unit itself, all the volumes (audio, navigation and master) are set at 100%. With the bikes volume set at a comfortable level, I chose a waypoint and listened for the "please drive to highlighted route". Without the headset plugged in and using the bikes external speaker, the music cuts out and her voice is loud and clear. Switch to the headset (radio still at comfortable level), I could barely hear her voice at all. And this was with the motor off in my quiet garage.
When she is talking and speaker switched to headset turn up the volume. You should see a NAV/PHONE in the screen and the volume changing. You have to do this while she is talking, otherwise you will be changing the master volume.

I have no way to know if you're seeing the same issues the 660s had(ve), but they are notorious for poor bluetooth hand-offs between audio inputs.
With a 660 linked to a BT phone, and trying to play music from the 660's internal mp3 memory, nav directions/music/phone audio BT switching is very poorly done, and lots of issues occur...loss of volume, no returning audio from various sources, etc. Garmin simply doesn't have any grasp of how to deal with it. Various volume settings don't fix it.
