I have first gear and hd leather jackets & 1 textile jacket. My favorite is my Hd Alternator 3 in 1. You can open vents, or remove the front panel for max flow... and its big enough to wear fleece under. Its a great jacket for traveling in all types of weather
I have an Olympia mesh jacket that I really like. I've had it for a few years. It's actually more comfortable in the heat than a t-shirt. The reason is that it keeps the direct sun off me but flows a lof of air. I don't know the exact model. It has armor in the elbows, shoulders and back. Otherwise it's mesh.
I just bought one of these, fairly new tech ( sun reflective) but some high end car mfg. are using it on there seats and I think some BMW jackets use it.
i bought one of these http://castlesales.com/Products/?id=...&a=showproduct before a recent ride down to Deal's Gap and couldn't be happier. i have since retired my leather jacket and for $150 you can' t really go wrong with this great jacket.
I ride with an old Vanson Vent Max 2 "bones" style with the bones all the way down the arms.
It would be equivalent to the Vent Max 4 now. http://www.vansonleathers.com/main_p...ns/textile.htm
Very cool , good armor , nicely made.

+1 on the Vent Max. I have one and I like it - strong 1000 denier cordura is pretty good protection compared to other mesh materials. Well made and feels like wearing a shirt.

it's not really in the harley image sweet spot but i wear a joe rocket textile mesh with armor (without the back board). it's kept me cool thru 120 degree desert runs and, with the liner in and a fleece pullover, warm in 45 degree temps.
I wear an Icon Hooligan2. Armor in the shoulders and elbows. It has a back panel (not armor, but one could be purchased). Very comfortable and cool. And I like the reflectivity so other drivers can see me day or night.
