Default 1458 miles and getting new compensator assembly!!

Went for a ride of about 150 miles today and ended up at the dealer because my bike started clattering really loud and shaking pretty bad. The mechanic took a listen to it and said it was in the primary and needed to be torn apart. He found that the compensator was all jacked up. REALLY!!! The part they need is minimum 2 days out. The real pisser is that I took the entire week off from work to put some miles on my brandy new Ultra and now I'm bikeless. The dealer wouldnt even consider a loaner for me. Now I'm mad. 1) at the fact I just spent over 20,000 for a new bike that's broken already with a bit over 1400 miles and 2) the dealer won't help me out with a loaner for a couple of days. The entire situation is BS. Just wanted to vent a little. Has anyone else run into this type of crappy situation? I'd like to know I'm not alone in my misery.

That really sucks. Some dealers will step up and do the right thing and some will not.

The other thing I forgot to mention is that the salesman who sold me the bike walked right past me 3 different times and never once said hello or asked what was up. It's like now that he made his money off me I don't exist. The service after purchase is not very friendly. I've pretty much decided after the repair of the compensator I will be taking any and all business to another dealer in the area. Rather than a 15 minute drive it'll take me an hour but it's a small price to pay for a decent experience.

I would go in, ask for the owner of the dealership, and vent to him. He should be aware of the idiots that work for him, and if he supports what's happened to you, head out down the road to another dealer. I have no idea where these people think the way they do, customer service is key to longevity !

They only help you out with a loaner if you got the extended warranty that includes a loaner if they keep your bike over night.

If everyone who had to leave a bike for warranty work got a loaner the dealer would have no bikes. Very few dealers of any kind, including auto dealers, give out loaners on a regular basis.

Is your bike a 2012? These are supposed to have the SE compensator, that's strange that those are going out also.

It's a 2012. I wonder what's next - voltage regulator. I just didn't expect problems this early in the game. It's a tough pill to swallow and there was little if any sympathy from the dealer. It was pretty close to "leave us your new bike and get the hell out". I'm just not as impressed as I'd hoped to be.
