I'm a loyal LSHD customer. Every order that I've placed with them has been a good experience, but I guess I knew what I was getting into before submitting my purchase.

My local dealer doesn't stock either, so I can wait, paying full price and local sales tax, or wait, have it delivered to my house, no tax, and 20% off. Doesn't take a genius to see the light...

I've spent thousands at LSHD. And I will continue to look to them for my future parts/accessories purchases.

From big purchases like a King Tour Pak, to small stuff like misc. random parts and OEM replacements, they've treated me well.

I'm not affiliated, and stand nothing to gain. Just sharing that I've had many positive experiences with them over the years.

Default Good customer service

I placed my first order with LSHD and one of the highway pegs had missing parts. I contacted Sparks and he sent out the missing pieces the next day. That is true customer service. I was impressed enough to place another order a few weeks later. I have no problem waiting for parts in exchange for the discount.

No dice, they don't do that - OK - I get it. I know where I stand.

They're a straight forward company that sells parts for a straight 20% off.
I too use them and have spent more money than I would like to say but none of the items were at 20% off. I think all of the stuff comes out to about 17%. That has been my experience. I would like to get the extra 3 percent you have been getting. I will continue buying from them.

I have a spreadsheet of all the parts I've purchased from LSHD1 (nerd) and just calculated the discount, and it's straight up 20% on the nose for everything except the vented fairing lowers which came out at 16.9%.

Although I'm a newby, I live close to LSHD and stop on my way home. My over the counter experiences have been just fine. If they had what I needed, they held it for me, and if not, ordered it and I picked it up a few days later. So far, no troubles. I suspect the anxiety is from the website ecommerce activity. Where I live, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Harley dealer....and yes, that's getting rare.

I have spent well over $8,000 with LSHD in the last 10 months. They do have strict rules, but they are fair. You get the discount, but you have to wait for the parts.

Whenever I placed an order I always got a confirmation email stating if the part was in stock, or not, and if it was not in stock (which was mostly always the case), I had the option to cancel the order.

I also had the experience of placing an order, then remembering that I forgot a part and tried to email Bill to add it to the original order and was told "no can do". I was a little irked at first, but they are better than other parts suppliers I used.

As far as Bill is concerned, he always answered the emails I sent promptly and does not feed you any BS. He might not serve "Nordstroms Quality" customer service, but is very fair and you know upfront what the rules of the game are. It's your choice if you want to play, or not.

I had the single worst customer service experience of my life with LSHD1, they screwed me out of hundreds of dollars and made it seem like they were doing me a big favor.

In early March I ordered chrome agitators wheels, rotors, tires, and a bunch of other stuff. They shipped everything except for the front wheel. When I called and asked where the front wheel was Bill Sparks told me that I would get the wheel in May (if I was lucky) and went on to bash Harley for their inability to ship anything on time. I told him I wasn't waiting 10 weeks for the front wheel and he informed me I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee and also pay return shipping.

I was beyond pissed off because LSHD1 failed to mention the front wheel was on backorder for 10+ weeks when I placed the order.

They ended up screwing me out of $500+ to return an order they were unable to fulfill.

I would never buy another thing from LSHD1 and now buy from Surdyke without problem.

I have countless rude emails from Bill Sparks where he's just a complete *** and he absolutely refused to let me speak to anyone in the dealership above him.

This post has become a little too personal if one member feels it necessary to dig up bike ownership stats on another!
Ah! Good to know. What I was getting at is a viable business is worth $$$ when the owner retires they often sell that business rather than simply close it down. I'll have to check out New Castle.

The agitators were backordered and I waited more than 10 weeks for my front also. My order was with the local dealer so it wasn't just LSHD. Not sure how they nicked you for $500, unless you shipped the whole works back?

LSHD is my go-to vendor for new parts. (well, if I can't find the part on ebay for even less). I couldn't tell you the last time I bought a new part from any of my local dealers.

Last spring, I ordered a 30t tri-glide trans pulley, and it so happened that was a popular modification at the time for the 07-newer touring bikes, so it was on backorder. I was given the option of cancelling the order with LSHD, and in fact, Bill located a pulley for me at one of the Texas dealerships. It was the only one he could find in the system at the time. I could have cancelled the order, called the texas dealership and paid full retail plus whatever shipping costs. I told Bill no hurry, and I got my pulley after about a 6 week wait. It wound up being part of my winter mods last December. I thought LSHD gave me great customer service, the only thing that would have made things go faster is if the part would have been in stock, but that's hardly Lakeshore's fault.
