Have never used the cruise control in the rain but am leaving on a 2000 mile trip and will certainly run into rain. Any concerns about using the cruise while riding in the rain? Will be on a variety of roads but lots on the interstate.
My personal preference is to not use cruise in the rain. Running through puddling, and wanting every split second I can get for reaction time is my reasoning.
I remember reading that driving a car in the rain with cruise control is a no no, so I would believe that doing it with 2 wheels is also not a good idea.
My 02 is this. A few years ago on 07 Ultra riding in a downpour, like hardcore, everthing soaked as can be (not me in my HD raingear) but was a ridable F'ing downpour!! Soon as it started to let up a little we all got back into formation and as soon as I set the CC, I started to speed up a little bit and tryed front brakes, rear breaks, both breaks, clutch and nothing would shut it down, no panic or anything cause we were in the middle of nowhere MN east of Ely. Anyways the only thing that finally worked was to roll the throttle backwards, later I thought I could have turned the CC switch off on the dash, but was trying to keep hands where they belonged. After riding in bright sun for a while and everything dried out, it worked flawlessly. I am pretty laid back, but that could have freaked out other riders for sure!!! So just a heads up there. I got nothing for recomendations like with a car in the snow or rain. Have fun on your trip!!!

I'm curious why the rain would affect the CC to react like that in the rain, any one have the answer. I wouldn't ride with it on either, but water sounds like it affected it, and it could happen after the downpour when the sun is shining?
I knows its wrong but I tend to not pay as much attention as I should when I have the cruise on. I guess I get too relaxed. Certainly couldnt use it in the rain.
