I have a Red 2012 Street Glide and the people that ride behind me have commented that it is hard to see my tail and brake/turn lights. Is there anything I can do to brighten these up? Different bulbs, lenses, etc. The thought of getting rear ended is not appealing to me.
Welcome to the Forums!! LED replacement bulbs would help, but Im not sure it would be enough. How about some LED strip lighting like they use on the CVO's? They are located vertically on the bag filler strips.
On my roadglide I changed out the tribar at the bottom of the fender for the one that also functions as a brake light. Not sure about on a red bike though.
I added the HD Center-mount running and brake light (Part# 68000029) and the HD Tri-Bar Light Upgrade (Part # 67774-10). Both have helped, although I don't understand why the tri-bar upgrade isn't a standard, especially with the changes to the rear fender.

Why would they make it standard when they can charge you later?
