Default Was I expecting too much?

Just want to start by saying this is my first fuel injected bike and I have no experience with tuners. I Just recently installed Vance & Hines Dresser duals, Rinehart 3.5” mufflers and the Screaming Eagle Ventilator AC on my 2012 Street Glide. I have the PCV tuned by Fuel Moto and I took it for a test drive last night and something did not seem right. I was not expecting anything major for performance increase but I can’t tell any difference. It still accelerates the same and feels like it pulls the same. The bikes I have owned before had noticeable improvement after exhaust and sir cleaner but they all had carbs. Was I just expecting too much from the mods? It also seems like the bike is popping and cracking when I run at 2000-2500 and let off the throttle. Is there anything that I should check, I do plan on calling fuel moto Monday just to get their input.

Josh

the tuning is one issue that you need to look at. ( i use another method of tuning compensation)

the other is that dresser duals ( true dual headers) have less torque than other systems- maybe that is why your "butt-dyno" isn't seeing a big difference.

I thought the same thing too when I first put my stage 1 in... went back and forth chasing small noises... decel popping... this than and another and finally contact Fuel Moto requesting a new map. The new map was not the right map and I soon found out I was chasing a ghost. Reloaded the original map and the bike has run like a champ ever since. With today's technology I think everyone expects too much, but that is just me thinking out loud.

I did not read your other thread about the rear head temps, but if that is a true issue you definitely wanna contact FM to get some advice. Stage 1 basically fixed the wrongs the MOCO wouldn't... Oh on the temp thing again. I used to run Nitro R/C and for almost a year I fiddled with my engines chasing that perfect temp. I wasted a lot of time. I know this is not the same thing, but thought I would throw it out there.

Good luck and hope you find the right tune

Oh, for Pete's sake, enough with the "you'll lose power with true duals" thing already.
You tune is incorrect. You should definitely feel a difference with the mods you made. A call to Fuel Moto should get you the correct map.

Did you disconnect the oxygen sensors, per the instructions with the PCV? I left mine connected and felt the PCV wasn't doing anything. I disconnected them and that's when I saw the difference.

This statement is ridiculous - I've had multiple systems on 4 Harleys and although TD's don't deliver the torque of a good 2-1 they are significant over stock.

If there is no noticeable improvement over stock on the bike in question, it certainly isn't because of the dresser duals head pipes.
