Father's Day Ride
Ezra is 9 years old and has been a rider himself since he was 4.
I bought him a Kawasaki KDX 50 for his 4th birthday. He has since moved up of course and is quite a good rider.
Ez was not interested in racing as he is a kick-*** baseball and football player and did not want to give up those passions for an all consuming MX career but sees motorcycling as an enjoyable recreation.
My previous bike was an Aprilia RSV 1000 with no passenger accommodations which I owned since he was 4 so a big part of my motivation for going to a touring bike was to take him along for the journey.....
He went with me to pick out the bike and "his" backrest on the Tourpak and now his day has finally come and he is looking forward to it with great enthusiasm.... there is a lot of build-up in fanfare in the Cave household as we approach Father's day. My wife, his sister and Ez have even ordered my gift from the HD dealership (it slipped out although IDK what it is).
The weather forecast looks great and the plans are set...we are going to get up early...wash the bike together (as it is still trashed from my 2000 mile trip of last week) and then head out on one of my favorite local loops.
I know you can all share in my joy of this perfect Father's Day moment....
Life is special....great sons and Harley Davidson's make it even more so.
Sorry if this thread made you throw up in your mouth a little bit.

My father died when I was 12 years old back in 1982. Not a day goes by I dont think about him and I would give up everything I own in this world (bikes included) to have one more day with him
I'm just wondering if any of my 3 grown sons will even remember it's Father's Day. They are all great men, but this kind of thing doesn't get their attention.
For my part, I will be with my 85 year-old Dad (and my 85 year-old Mother) next week in the Caribbean!

Take lots of pictures, well, before the ride!My son is 22, and has a Suz GSsomething 600. This week we rode up to Laconia for my annual one day visit to bike week. It was his first trip to Bike Week. Had a blast, just the 2 of us. Tho at the end of the day he started to appreciate the comforts the Ultra has over his sport bike. hahah.
Happy Father's Day to all the dads!
