Handlebar Help!!!!
Kinda New to Harley's but the 2000 Ultra I bought has a Zeppelin Seat but has stock handlebars, and my right upper arm starts to hurt after a little riding. Just would like some opinions on what Handlebars I might need that would help this without spending a fortune. I am 5'10" tall. I also have a backrest.
A lot of people here use Wild-one's, Cyclesmith, Hill Country Custom, and Calolina's, just to name a few. I have HCC on my glide now and have had Cyclesmith before without any problems from either one. Never have used the WO's so can't say first hand. With an Ultra, your going to be locked into a few choices because of the batwing. HCC, Cyclesmith, and Wild ones are about the only choices you'll have, that I know of. Hope this helps. And welcome to the touring section.
Everyone on here seems to say they want bars ,but don't want to change cables, IMO you can't get a comfortable bar without changing cables.
I would look into some 12" bagger bars, it will cost in the area of $700.00 for the bars, and cables, well worth it IMO.
PYO bars are nice, but everyone has them, and they are expensive, google search 12" bagger bars there are tons out there.

I ended up going to HD Heritage style bars on my Road Glide. For me they were a great fit and no cable or wiring changes. The bars are inexpensive at about $ 80.00 or less at the dealer.
Do a search on them, a lot of threads about them

Another thing you can also try is adjusting you stock bars. Believe or or not just pushing them forward or back a bit will make a difference. Adjusting the levers will also help sometimes too.

I put HD Touring Reach bars on my RKC. did the work myself, bought the wire extension kit, took pictures of the wiring with my Droid before taking it apart. did the work in about 6 hours but only because I was being careful and didn't want to go into the house (there's always dishes, laundry, and dusting in there...). anyway... love the bars, no more backache from leaning forward.
