I went to the dealer and they advised they had never heard of a tire problem but would email the rep. I also asked about the regulator campaign. The next day I got a response advising the tire would not be covered because it was cosmetic and did not effect the safety aspect of the tire. They also advised that since I already had 1300 miles on the bike and the regulator was still functioning fine, my regulator was fine and did not need to be replaced.
So today I stopped by another dealer for the hell of it and asked about the regulator and was advised the MOCO advised it was recommended that the regulator be replaced regardless how it is functioning. So they pulled her in the shop and replaced it for me. The tech took a look at my front tire and advised "That front tire needs to be replaced" No emailing reps or nothing...Of course they didn't have the tire in stock so another trip for me in the morning before work and I should be good to go....It all depends how much the dealer wants go that extra mile to help.... Had a very similar situation up here in PA. almost exactly.
just got my '12 Street Glide back today, got both items taken care of. Classic HD of Reading PA took great care of me.
Noticed my front has cracks only on the right side of the front tire of my 2012 SG. Some of them are pretty deep. Called the dealer and they said they have never heard of that problem but would take a look. They said to bring it in and they would take a look but couldn't guarantee that it would be covered. Let you know on Wednesday how it goes!
just got a call today and was advised their shipment of front tires came in and it looks like this batch was good to go, so back to the dealer I go on Thursday for a free front tire replacement. The tire rep did ask what forum site I was on because of course he has never heard of a problem. I told told him along with search instructions. Hopefully he is not blowing smoke and he checks it out because obviously there is a tire problem.
The new tire came in so I went back to the dealer. Before they pulled my bike in to swap tires the tech noticed on the new tire the sidewall was in worse shape then my tire! It was manufactured Feb of 2012. There was a 2 inch slit in the sidewall you could dig your fingernail into. They placed an order for 5 tires and they should be in mid next week. The tech advised they will look over all 5 tires before they call me back in. They advised and acknowledged there is obviously some sort of front tire problem and said I was the first to bring it to there attention. I'll update next week when I get the new tire.
As far as the regulator It is working as it should, my volt gauge though not that accurate at lease reads 14.5 at idle and not pegged at 15 to 15.5 all of the time as with the old regulator.
I'd rather not name the dealer for this was not the reason of the post but I will mention that it is Blue springs HD that id really taking care of me with the new tire and regulator.

I'd really appreciate knowing which dealer gave you the BS. Might save me some headache in the future. Mind shooting me a PM so I know to stay away from this dealership?
I just got my front tire replaced (under warranty) because of cracks in the sidewall. 10k miles but tread was good. It was just under a year old manufacture date. The new one has a date of 0512 and has small cracks also... I'm going back to see what they have to say about it. less than 1k on it. I wouldn't have given it a second thought but a buddy of mine was checking it out and noticed the cracks... I have had too many problems with these crappy tires. I hope Harley changes to someone else for tires!
Well I had first cracking tire replaced after calling dunlap and wearing out service manager. Fast forward 4 months and 4 thousand miles.
Same service manager refusing to replace tire. He dragging his feet in contacting the moco (lost pictures Bla Bla Bla not returning calls) so I called Dunlap they referred me back to dealer. Quoting service manager " I would ride it cross country" I have been nice just not sure what to do. I added 2 of 9 photos Safe or Not
