I've had them in my old '91 FLHS for years; no problem. Suckers are BRIGHT which is what I like to avoid getting flattened by a cager. I did need to upgrade the light circuit breakers from 15amp to 20amp as they were tripping off.
Also rewired my spot lamps when I put halogens in them with their own in line fuse and by passed the stock light circuit breaker but well worth the hassle.
The new bikes have plenty of charging power and I may bump up the light circuit breaker a tad to cover the extra amps.
