Why take the trunk off a Cadillac ?
Maybe get a forward mount http://www.baggersmag.com/tech/1111_...ack/index.html for the tour-pak, big backrest and keep storage space ?
Ooorrrrr.....carry extra gear like a bulky jacket in the passenger area ?
Besides, doesn't your girlfriend ride ?...lol

Friend of mine had these installed by dealer on his 2010 Ultra:

53246-09A – Detachable Tour-PakŽ Rack for Electra GlideŽ - '09-Later Models

and

70032-09 – Tour-PakŽ Quick Disconnect Harness for Ultra Models

Only problem was he couldn’t figure out why his radio did not work ( he forgot to move the antennas over to the other mounts when he took the tour pack off. )

the kit is pricey- but the ticket IF you will be installing and removing alot.

other wise it can be bolted/unbolted in about 30 minutes a time...quicker if you are smart with hardware and swap some out.

I did mine once, but i'm sure now i could do it in 15 minutes, quicker if i have another set of hands and a screw gun. Not sure why that one above cost $400+ I've seen them wayyyyy cheaper. My friend paid $180 at the dealer for the detatch and like $80? for the docking kit.
