Power Duals went on without a hitch. Had two other sets of V&H on my other HDs. A set of Big Shots on a Fatboy that lasted for 8 yrs and the guy I sold it to is still running them. Sorry to hear you had a problem.
I always check for leaks, and if you had a leak at the exhaust port, you wouldn't need a match to tell you. You'd be able to hear it.
I used the supplied gaskets with the Power Duals, but used the tapered with every other set of V&H I put on and never had a leak at the port.
I also ride for a while and re torque when it cools down.
Glad to hear you got it to work.
Now go get a good tune
Well with a modification to the transmission bracket, cross over bracket, floor board spacer, (three hole) and new exhaust port gaskets from Fuelmoto (thanks Jamie) the power duals are installed without leaks.
No thanks to Vance & Hines this will be my last V&H product ever!!!
What type of exhaust gaskets did Jamie send you?
The reason I ask is sometimes it is better to run the stock gasket other than the little bitty ones they send. As far as quality I have never had anytrouble with the V&H's exhaust, always top notch and there alot thicker than the Rineharts that I purchased back in 06. I let a screwdriver slip while hitting it with the palm of my hand to move a clamp and it darn near went through the pipe. I sold them and bought V&H's tru duals and they were alot thicker, I'm just say'n.

Like I said, I figured I would get some hate. You don't have to believe me, just look on this forum about the problems with V&H. Cracking, discoloration, fitment, etc... Sure there are many who don't have problems, but I would rather not play the guessing game. I would rather give my money to a company that cares about a quality product all the time and excepts nothing less.
Don't get all butt hurt about my post. But there are better options out there. JMHO.
Wire, I would be interested in knowing which pipes rarely have fitment problems for future reff. I recall someone having problems with the Fuel Moto SS header not sealing properly at the exhaust port. So what kind of gasket will accommodate an aftermarket pipe?

I belive they are COMETICŽ EXHAUST PORT GASKET ... is what they look line concave SS not wire mesh. Nothng on the packing slip, however when I talked to Jamie he said he uses a specific exhaust port gasket with his header to insure a leak free seal, and they work great.
I have had good luck with V&H in the past, they did send me a new head pipe and brackets, but I would have to modify them also, maybe my 2011 EGC is all out of spec.
