Glad you like that 8" Clearview recurve. It is pretty amazing isn't it? Sometimes the more straight up angle of the shield bugs me from a looks standpont, but you're right it's short enough to keep the sport image for the bike. I alternate between four windshields; 13" Cee Bailey, 8" Clearview w/recurve, 9" FastAire and 6" Fast Aire. I'm gonna put my opaque 9" Cee Bailey SSC up for sale. (FastAire has a much improved product in my opinion these days. After ordering about 6 of them, the last 3 have had a much better protective coat on them.) The first three were so easy to scratch you couldn't even clean them with a micro towell.
Kevin, how does the 8" CV compare with the 13" SSC with line-of-sight? Does the SSC appear to be taller when you're seated on the bike? IOW, does the SSC intrude on your line of sight more than the CV? For me, the 8" CV w/recurve is minimal when riding without the backrest, which when installed tends to push me into a straighter posture, thus higher line of sight. When the backrest is in place I'm looking well over the CV. Based on Cee Bailey's chart, the 12" has about the same effective height (16.5" from tip of WS to gas-lid lock, vs. 16.75" for my CV). The 13" SSC is 17.5", which would be too tall except when using the backrest. I know, too complicated.
