The only reason I have a Bagger is beacuse it is the best tool for the job out on the highway and to do the long days in the saddle. If I was going to limit myself to just putting around on backroads I'd would have built a 4 speed Shovel...

With so many $hi**ty drivers in CA I take the backroads whenever possible. Could also be that time a semi truck blew while I was right along side. Talk about having to clean out the chaps.

Usually backroads, but sometimes the interstates. Depends on what I want to accomplish.

I take the slab to get out of town but then prefer the secondary highways or backroads to see some Americana. A friend and I are taking I-81 out of VA to I-40 over to Oklahoma City and then the Mother Road Rt 66 on across to CA and back this spring and I can't wait to hit the road.

I only jump on the pike just for something different, and then it never lasts long. Most always will take the long way,the only way to fly.

I live in Northern Virginia. I take the backroads for my daily work commute from Springfield to Reston. Weekend rides - we do backroads. But, if i was going on long distance "destination" trips, then i prefer slabs. I slabbed it from here to Laconia NH, all in one day. And will be slabbing it again from here to Americade in NY.

I prefer to ride the back roads when out just taking a joy ride. On those trips I will avoid taking the highway at all costs.

However (why is there always a however), if I need to get somewhere in a hurry, the highway it is.

Being a trucker I try and stay away from the super slab as much as possible when I am on the bike. Sometimes you just can't avoid it though.

Back roads...like to take my time and enjoy the scenery. The fewer cages the better.

Ride safe,
