Default Heat

I just traded my 09 Street Glide for a 12 Ultra Classic Peace edition yesterday. Love the new bike but the heat that comes off the right side is crazy. Had no issue with my 09. It is gonna be hot with that here in FL

You have to get rid of the cat by either swapping out the head pipe or removing your header and cutting out the convert or yourself. Also a stage one upgrade and a tuner will help as well. Use the search and you will find endless threads on colling down the engine.

Arrow heat

Did no one tell you that HD stands for Heat Displacement?
Just be happy you are not here in Phoenix, it has been running 110 degrees this week. I actually ride a Victory Cross Country daily on my 52 mile round trip commute. It puts out noticeably less heat than the HD Street Glide in my barn. To make it even sweeter, all Vic's come stock with an oil cooler . Running Amsoil in mine, the motor runs at 230-235 degrees on 110 degree days
I actually rode a Road Glide Ultra at a demo event & ever since, refer to them as the Heat Glide Ultra Cooker

I guess you would probably feel heat with an engine between your legs!

2 differences, 1 you had a street glide before, an ultra now. so you have added fairing lowers into the equation, and that dadgum catalytic converter.

get rid of the cat, either cutting it out, or replacing the head pipes. you're still gonna have heat. either take the lowers off, or remove the doors for the summer. its easy, remove the top cap, then take off the glove box part (3 torx screws), then use 1/2 socket and remove the nut on the pivot point. pull the door off, then stash it until fall.....

I will try taking the doors off the lowers. It seemed *** backwards to me that I got more heat with the doors open.

I have never been bothered by the heat from my CAT no matter how hot the weather, but I wear pretty heavy boots.
