Help me with my odometer

I just bought a 2007 road king custom. The odometer shows the milage all the time even with the ignition off. I asked the Kid behind the parts counter at the local dealer if this was normal and he said yes. I don't think so...this is my 3rd HD and none of the others have done this. wondering if anyone else has heard of this or had it happen.

Now that little Gremlin is wierd. I'll be interested to hear what folks have to say about this one.

I have an 08 Road King Classic with the speedo/tach combo and yes the odometer shows the mileage even with the ignition turned off. I was told by the dealer that this is normal and one of the reasons you need to have a battery tender on the bike if you plan on letting it sit for a while.

it shouldn't be there when ignition is off...

mines the combo unit as well...between not having a clock and the millage always on it's driving me nuts

slvdout, you should have a clock if you have the combo unit. Try hitting the trip button 4 times with the ignition switch on. Once you turn the ignition off it defaults back to mileage.

I cycled thru it a few times and no clock just odometer and trip meter, I"ll try again once i have it back together....i'm still waiting for a bunch of parts to arrive.
