The fork baffle took care of about 70% of the sunglasses rattling off my head.
The fairing mounted deflectors took care of the rest.
The solution will be different for everyone depending on rider height, seat height, windshield height, and whether or not you are using a recurve shield.
All the above will help and I use one of those straps on my glasses to hold them on tight. This makes the buffeting seam less because the glasses are held tight kinda like goggles , works for me
Does using the fork baffles and the vented lowers make the mike run hotter since there is less air flow ?
No it does not make the Bike run hotter. My lowers actually steer some air towards the engine, also the triple tree deflector diverts wind down onto the front of the engine.
I just installed the Forks deflectors from jescustomaccents and they decreased the buffeting by 80-90% and look pretty cool!
Im 6'4" and i had to buy a 10" smoke shield from LRS for the same buffeting problem on my SG. The shield has a 1" lip at the top that throws the wind up higher and that completely solved the problem.
The fork mounted deflectors do more to help the buffeting than any other item i have tried. I even have them On my limited. And yes they will work despite what the book says. Just do a little tweaking. If i had to chose between the Vented lowers and the fork deflectors, I would chose the fork deflectors where buffeting is concerned. I pull my fairing lowers off in the summer. And the deflectors on the forks do the job with the buffeting
You could also try a simple fix, the motorcycle rain guards by Desert Dawgs... they slip on over the engine guard bar, easy on/off and they cut down a lot of the updrafts. http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/harl...n-rain-guards/

Interesting and a little dated with conchos.
Might as well get HD fabric lowers for $76 + shipping from Surdyke or similar, no?
Just took my 43 mile commute to work with my new jescustomaccents fork deflectors installed and my new LRS 7" Xstream windshield. This is the most comfortable ride I have ever had on the interstate traveling 75+ mph. Absolutely no buffeting. I put my hand in front of my chest and no wind at all. The Xstream allows some wind near my head on the sides but it is "clean" air. Also the front end was more stable and have less wind resistance. Very happy with the combo.
I get a kick out of you guys.....what kind of glasses you where? People who buy a motorcycle and then dont want wind on there face amaze me......u test drive it first?windshield or helmet and done.......
Clean wind is fine, its the turbulent air that vibrates the glasses when the lemet is on.
