Handlebar cables
on a model where th handlebars are exposed ( like a bike with no fairing) it makes for nice custom look- and that can lead to new sleek hand controls, mirrors and other "improvements".
I wouldn't bother unless you plan on changing the other stuff to a sleek complete look.

Put some Chubby WO518's on my 07 Road King and most definitely worth the time, effort and money to run those cables through the bars. Very nice and sleek look. Also just finished doing my wife's Heritage and same thing, looks 100% better.
Its gonna be 13 inch Carlini flying apes- I got new grips too but cant swing the mirrors and or other handlebar controls yet. I just want to get these bars on cuz its taken me some time to be able to afford the extended cable kit from country cycles. July 12th im dropping the bike off for the handlebar swap and its 2 hours less labor if I dont run the cables inside the bars.
I just did the swap from heritage softtail bars to wild one 14" and although it is personal preference, the internal wiring is a very clean look and was the second reason I went with the apes, the first being the comfort! You will definately not be disappointed with the internal wiring. Of course I didn't have to pay the labor for the install.
Just got my Yaffe 12" classic apes on today. Ran 38 wires thru the bars. Definately looks cleaner but was a pain. I could see why the dealer spec'd 10 hours but at $87/hr for labor I had to give it a try.
