Blackey coveR if yours didn't ship yet maybe call and ask the owener I think his name is keven and ask him to look it over before he sends it .it may save you time just a thought .
I called Dragonfly and spoke with the Linsey the girl who originally took my order. I sent pictures. She blamed the chrome said that's the way it comes. What Bull. She said they purchase it thru Harley. More Bull. Harley **** fits. They don't seem to want to do anything. The installer simply didn't care that he installed it crooked. These holes are not in the mold, they have to drill and screw them once assembled. Once again proving that it was the assemblers fault. Why would they install the chrome when it has to come off to paint. Not that it's a problem, it's only a cosmetic fault. But why should I receive a fairing with a cosmetic flaw when I paid for a premium unit. I plan on taking it to my painter for evaluation. Then I will call them again. I bet if I spent 2500.00 it wouldn't of came this way. My other Beef is the day I ordered it they charged my credit card and made a $9.00 mistake In there favor. I called back the same day and Linsey said I'll credit you. I haven't seen the credit yet, It's been a month. I called her and she claims that I was credited. Oh But, they did offer to refund my 49.00 for the chrome trim if I would send it back. To be continued. Bob
I removed the windshield molding and looked at it, it's fine. The three drilled holes on the windshield mounting lip were drilled incorrectly the Left Side is higher than the center and the Right Side is lowest of all causing the molding to droop. These are some big screws at least 5/16 dia. and long. Linsey has sent me a return label, so they can evaluate it. I also held the molding up to see how it would look and fit and it was perfect. I realize that it was just a mistake done by the assembler. I'll keep you up dated on what happens in the future. thanks Bob
BlackeyCoveR, I hope yours turns out fine. Make sure you give it a good look over and let us know about your experience
Our fairings are intended to be painted. They are a primer gel coat not a UV stable gel coat... for that reason there may be small blemishes here and there, but nothing goes out the door needing nothing more than a coat of primer, which is the first step in the painting process. For this reason we also offer paint services FOR AN O.E. looking part out of the box.
small blemishes are one thing but cracks offset speaker post and chrome trim that is not on straight is another story for the price at least QC the product before you send it which I was told you didn't on product you don't paint and do the stereo install
I was looking at a Dfly one for my Heritage but found a Kuryakyn one that someone was selling out here. I know that the Kuryakyn ones are pricey but I was really shocked at how nice it was when I got it.. The stereo & speakers that came with it are still stock but that will change this winter as well as the paint. The things I like about the Kuryakyn one that I didn't think I would is that lockable glove box above the stereo, 2, yes 2 power outlets, I-Pod cable in the glove box and plenty of room inside the fairing for an amp.. I should also say that it is constructed very well, looks great and seems to fit the bike like a glove.. Some people may not like the fact that it is bolted on & takes about 20 minutes to remove/install but I dont ever see it coming off...
Bob, I certainly hope they fix the problems you brought up with them and treat you right.. And hopefully Blackey gets his in better condition than you did..
Hi Dragonfly2000. I am not complaining about the fairings finish. It is beautiful. I am not an unhappy customer. My complaint is about the chrome window trim that was installed on my fairing. It wasn't installed strait. Because it is extremely visible, I am disappointed. I have sent it back for evaluation. I am sure you make quality product. Thx Bob
