I met a guy yesterday that sold his 09 Ultra this spring & bought a new Vision - He & his wife are very happy with the change - I know one thing - around here there's not many used ones on the market & when one turns up it doesn't seem to last long - I'm 66 & am thinking i'll keep my Ultra until I hang it up but if i should start looking again I will take a very hard look at the Victory - I have never been married to one brand but I will say all of the Goldwings & Valkyries I have owned hold a special place - I went for a short 70 mile ride this morning on the Ultra - fun motorcycle - I do really like it - but then again in my 50 years of riding I never met a motorcycle I didn't like - tom
So why would the motor company add the water cooled lowers? And more importantly, when? Let's understand that MoCo does one thing well, "Marketing".
What would water cooling do? Increase the HP, of course.
What is next model year? The 110th anniversary of the MoCo.
What would be a great anniversary engine? A 110 engine with 110 HP.
Here's the tag line.
One Ten in a One Ten in One Ten
or
110/110/110
Ya think that would sell? Would you pay $35k for a CVO that would leave the crotch rockets at the stop light wondering what just ran away from them? I think the answer is, yes.

Don't buy the Victory until the 110 model HDs come rolling into the show room.
My real $0.02
A 110 hp Harley weighing 850 lbs will never beat the high performance bikes on the road today, but that is not what a Harley is about.

That explains everything!
Now I know that V-Rod's producing 122 horses aren't really Harley's - 'cause that's not what Harley's are about.
And the Harley Racing Team that wins trophies for the best time in quarter mile runs aren't what Harley's are about. Ooh, and don't forget the flat tracker's screaming through the turns sideways on their HD XR1200's.
I don't know what they're riding but seems to me they're living the Harley life style just like all the rest of us Harley owners.
So, what is a Harley about if they're not about living the lifestyle each of us want to live regardless of what that happens to be?

A vrod is not a fast bike and we were talking about a cvo street bike with a 110 hp. which would not be a fast bike either. I don't think most people ride a harley for it's power. I think you are too sensitive.
