Just get a different seat. It sucks anyway.

ABSOLUTELY. There has never been a passenger in the history of the planet that has held onto that dumb strap. It's a throwback to the olden days (when I started riding) of "bench" seats that were essentially straddling a leather covered 4x4. If someone actually did use it, it would be of no use in an emergency anyway. Take if off and leave it off.

True on the stock RKC seat. That, and the fact that the stock seat isn't very good, is a great reason to change seats.

Sorry, didn't realize you had to keep it. Is there any way you can lose the brackets and just attach the ends of the strap permanently to the bottom of the seat pan?
