Are you completely removing it, or just accessing the area under the seat? On my 2011 RKC, (for access) I remove the strap mounting screw on the left hand side of the of the bike. Then I remove the seat mount bolt at the rear of the seat. This gives me enough slack to pull the seat back out of the mounts and roll it to the right hand side of the bike.

If you want the seat off completely, do the above process, but remove the right hand side seat strap mounting bolt as well.

Thumbs up

Remove the two bolts as punisher described, but I then just pull the strap out of the slots on the seat and keep the strap attached on the right side. Seat practically falls off.

First time I removed the phillips screw that held the strap and didn't remove the brackets at all. Next time I remove both bracket and had to adjust for one of the bags when i finished.

I always permanently remove the strap and it's brackets. They are just in the way and I've never had a passenger actually use them.

outline your right side bracket with a sharpie permanent marker. That way everytime you remove the right side bolt that holds the bracket and strap, it is easy to just line it all back up perfectly and keep the strap where it belongs. Actually, I outlined all four of my brackets.

I just remove the screw that holds the strap to the bracket and pull it out of the slot. Goes right back in no problem and no adjustments needed.

That's fine on an EG, but looks awful without the strap on an RK because the strap goes through the seat not over it.
