S.E. 255 cams!!! Junk junk junk!! Good thing they were free.....or I would really.be pissed. Soon to hit the metal hopper!
Just curious...When I cammed my '07 King a few years ago, it was between the 255 & 254e cams. HD tech recommended the 254e instead; said the lower end was similar, but you get more top end, no need for ACRs, & no hot start kickback. What is your experience with the 255s?
Take it any way you want - biggest waste of money, worst performance decision etc. Perhaps you'll save someone from making the same mistake.
For me the following was a waste of money. You really don't need it and it's questionable whether it makes any difference. EZ Tour-PakŽ Lid Catch 53000195
Others: too many chrome add ons on my 1992 Fayboy.
I bought a no name knock off Shift Linkage. I got it new at Street Vibes in reno a couple years ago. I asked the sales guy will it fit my 2001 Road Glide He looked it up on his laptop and said yeah it fits. So I gave him $40 and off I went. Couple days later and I tried installing and its about 3-4 inches to long.
Yup...a tweeter. You pick the other gauge to loose. I use the odometer (trip and range) as my gas gauge so my gas gauge is going bye bye too.
I agree... the stock fuel gauge is basically useless - especially while riding. I swapped the speedo for a speedo/tach combo that has a nice digital fuel gauge. Now... what the heck do when/if I pull the tank gauge???
The worst upgrade I ever made was the aftermarket exhaust system. It was way too loud for no more performance gain that i got. All the other upgrades that I have done were well worth the money to me.
That's my experience too. Nice sound but too loud for riding any amount of time. Put stock mufflers back on and the "performance" slip-ons back in the box. Live and learn.
I put a 200 rear tire on my last bike (04 Deuce) that thing handled like **** and scrapped ever turn after. I should have stayed with the stock (150 or 160). but DAMN it looked cool... LOL.
