Harley's cheapest rain gear is better then the best Frog Tog has to offer. You stress the F/T even a little and they tear. Just throwing your leg over the seat can rip the crotch. Tourmaster has a pretty extensive line with built in heat shield for the pants and 3/4 lenth jackets with CE approved armor and plenty of water proof pockets that aren't that much more expensive then F/T crap. I can see if your a fair weather rider to cheap out on raingear, but if you spend days at a time in the saddle, buy something you can count on. Its money well spent.

I will say I bought Harley rain gear right at the dealer, it was around 180$ I wanna say, I forget it was back in 04, I still have and still use it.
I can honestly say it is great with one exception.
The one I got keeps you dry as a bone but you will sweat your butt off in it.
I rode from Manchester NH to Farmington CT, a couple hundred miles I guess in a torrential rain storm, I mean trucks were using flashers and going 35 on the interstate for a long long time, I could see maybe 20 feet and had to ride on the *** of a trucker for miles to see his flasher to even keep going.
I got to Farmington and the sun was out, so I stopped for gas and took off my gear, I was dry as a bone, except for my neck, I had a fleece on and I tucked it in my jacket and water that hit it bled down into my shirt, but other than that I was 100% dry from head to toe.

I wear the booties too, lol dont laugh they work.

So for my experience I am 100% sold and soooo glad I had my rain gear on that trip.
I rode for 10 days around Lake George and Laconia Nh on 06 it rained at least 6 days, we rode every single day with our matching Harley rain gear and again, dry as a bone.
It sucks to ride in the rain, but sometimes you just have to, if you have to, its good to have good rain gear.

I looked at the Harley line but they don't make tall sizes so they don't work for me.

I've got Goretex HD rain suit a few years back off the clearance rack. Was back before HiVis was cool, it's bright orange with black pants. Still cost me a bundle even at 50% off, but it was money well spent. Try checking the classifieds or EBay for some, as the good Goretex stuff will last for years and IMO is better than their current offerings.

I went that direction trying to save a few bucks. I ended up wasting the price of the frog togs. After a long hard ride in the rain, I was soaked with the froggies.

I gave them away and bought a set from the dealer. Wish I would have done that from the start.

I am currently using the military gortex type rain gear. I plan on adding some high vis material to the back of the jacket. It will keep you warm and dry. I am using this because uncle sugar issued it to me and I kept it when I retired. Going to get a set for the OL too.

Was this just recently? Lady checked the catalog while I was there and even made a call to someone because she couldn't find them and was told that Harley stopped carrying the tall. She said they used to be in the catalog.

This is what I have, never plan to ride in the rain but wanted something just in case.

Yep, all that. You get what you pay for. When I bought my Hi Viz I paid $150 and I think $40 for the gaiters. The same set now is $185 but would do it all over again if something happened to mine (which in fact did). The pants started to get damp in the seat. A dealer recently replaced them for me with a new set.

A buddy recently paid something like $400 for a set of rain gear from Cabella's and I am sure it will keep him dry but doubt very much it has anything in the way of heat shields.
